I'm a Harry-Potter loving, novel reading, wine & beer enthusiast, genetics nerd who also loves photography. I like sleeping in on the weekends (but really, who doesn't?), cheering for the Indianapolis Colts and IU Hoosiers, and eating hot wings while I watch Sunday football. I cook when I can, I travel almost every week (for my 'day-job' mostly, but sometimes for fun), and sometimes I'm talked into a 5k by my boyfriend. I especially like the ones where they give you a donut or a taco at the finish line. Isn't that the reason most people run a 5k? I've heard there's these "runner" people who actually like it... I think I'm dating one of those... anywho....
Photography isn't my main gig, I actually am a licensed and certified genetic counselor. [If you have no idea what that is, don't feel bad, most people don't! But I'd love to tell you all about it during our session together.] My job requires 60% travel, so I'm on the road almost every week. While it can be exhausting at times, I also get to travel to some crazy cool places and have experiences that wouldn't happen otherwise. That photo is from the very top of the Eiffel Tower - I was in Europe thanks to work and I couldn't pass up the opportunity to do some sight-seeing.
I volunteer my time twice a month as a photographer for Capturing Hopes. This organization provides photo sessions in the NICU for families at hospitals across the country. Many times, these families are missing out on the typical "newborn" session, but we love to celebrate the milestones their babies achieve and every ounce of growth and progress.
